There was some discussion of a Far North trip, but with Loz only able to do the Sunday, we elected to have another round trip.
We then struggled to find four people to fill the trip as people seemed reluctant to leave their beds in time for a 9:30 start.
Eventually we got a team together and headed down to the show cave, where we met Loz.
We changed quickly and headed into the show cave before it opened to the public. We were soon into the "cavers only" section and up to our chests in cool water.
Loz set the syphon going so that we could have a look at the Syphon series on our return.
After a couple more deep pools, a climb, a crawl and a duck wearing sunglasses, we arrived at Straw Chamber.
Then we were into the long crawl, a good proportion of which is flat out & for some reason there is a piton in the wall about half way along it.
After a quick detour into Flabbergasm Oxbow to admire the formations, which were even better than those in Straw Chamber, we continued into Cloud Chamber. This contained even more straws.
We then had a swim in the Green Canal before turning left and dropping down into the Abyss. Dali's Delight was pointed out (somewhere Ros & I had been taken previously by mistake).
We went over (and under) the Camel and eventually ended up at the Washing Machine, where Loz tried to persuade us of the existence of Washing Fairies.
Apparently these clever fairies collect the discarded, dirty clothes from the floordrobe, wash, dry & iron them and return them to the wardrobe.
It was then only a short walk up Virgin Passage to get back to the Long Crawl.
Unfortunately? the syphon had not lowered the water level sufficiently for us to have a look at the Syphon Series, so we headed back to the show cave and out of the system.
